UnPlug: February 2022 Prompt
“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” —Anne Lamott
My husband was an electrical engineer who never had to return anything to the manufacturer or take it in to be serviced.
He had three approaches to something working slower and slower to operate or making mistakes:
Turn it off or unplug it, wait five minutes, restart it
Shake it.
Lay on your hands and sincerely say something good about it.
Now how can you get yourself to work again?
Unplug: go lay down for 20 minutes or take a walk outside or climb in the shower.
Shake: remember the movements of the Hokey Pokey. Shake your arms, and your wrists, your head around and around, pick up each leg and kick it out, then go in a circle, and finally jump your whole body forward and back.
Put both hands on your hips or your head or give a hug around your chest. Has your body been working for a long time? Do you depend on it? Does it make you happy to have it? Well, tell your body with some positive energy how much you appreciate it. Thank the spirit in your breath.
